Project
Microbial keratitis is an acute infection of the cornea and one of the leading causes of unilateral blindness across all ages worldwide. Current treatments for such diseases involve frequent administration of antimicrobial eye drop solutions, which reduces patient compliance and can cause complications. Thus, there is an unmet need for development of a safe hydrogel platform technology to enable local sustain release of ocular therapeutics.
